There was a time when I thought looking put together meant spending 30 or 40 minutes getting ready.
Then life happened.
Between work, family, responsibilities, and everything else that fills our days, those extra minutes became harder to find. I realized something important: most of us aren't looking for a complicated beauty routine—we're looking for one that fits real life.
That's when I stopped chasing perfection and started focusing on intention.
I've discovered that five thoughtful minutes can make a surprising difference.
Not because makeup changes who we are, but because taking a few moments for ourselves reminds us that we're worth the time.
For me, a simple morning routine looks something like this:
💕 A moisturizer that leaves my skin feeling refreshed.
💕 A cream eyeliner that glides on quickly without fuss.
💕 Mascara to brighten my eyes.
💕 A favorite lip color.
That's it.
The goal isn't to look like someone else. It's to feel like the best version of yourself before the day begins.
One thing I've learned over the years is that choosing the right products matters just as much as the routine itself. That's why I've made a promise to my Beauty Quips readers: I only recommend products I've personally used and genuinely enjoy. Your trust means more to me than promoting the latest launch.
This week in Beauty Quips, I'm sharing one of my favorite features yet—our very first Beauty Battle. Instead of telling you which eyeliner is "best," I'm comparing two cream eyeliners I use and explaining who each one is best suited for.
Because beauty isn't one-size-fits-all.
What works beautifully for one woman may not be the best fit for another, and that's perfectly okay.
My hope is that every issue of Beauty Quips helps make beauty feel a little simpler, a little more approachable, and a lot more enjoyable.
So tomorrow morning, before the emails start rolling in or the laundry calls your name, give yourself five minutes.
Pour the coffee.
Take a deep breath.
Put on your favorite lipstick or eyeliner.
Smile at the woman in the mirror.
Then go conquer your day.
Because confidence doesn't have to take an hour.
Sometimes...
Five minutes is enough.
